Nexpo Achieves the IFS Food Certification

The manufacturing facility of Nexpo Conversion has achieved IFS Food Certification. The IFS Food Standard is a GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) benchmarked standard for auditing food manufacturers. Its focus is food safety and the quality of processes and products, and it is developed with certification bodies, retailers, food industry agents and service companies. Its objective is to audit manufacturers that produce and pack food in bulk, to guarantee the safety and quality of what they make.

Nexpo Conversion is the first manufacturing facility in the world to achieve IFS Food Certification for coconut milk powder and its production process.

IFS Food applies to suppliers at every step of food processing after the agricultural stage. Its requirements cover the quality management system and the HACCP system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), supported by prerequisite programmes for good manufacturing, laboratory and hygiene practice. The requirements are organised under senior management responsibility; the quality and food safety management system; resource management; planning and the production process; measurement, analysis and improvement; and food defence.

Becoming IFS Food certified is a step in the continual improvement of the food safety and quality management system in our manufacturing facility, and helps us serve our customers, especially those in Europe. It is a mark of trust and commitment to customers and suppliers alike, as we raise the bar on the safety of the raw materials we buy and the finished products we sell, from our farmers to the end consumer.

The IFS Food audit of Nexpo was carried out by SGS, whose IFS Food certification process is accredited by Die Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS).
